What is fatigue? It's a general feeling of tiredness. It's your body's way of saying slow down and rest. Exhaustion is severe fatigue. More specifically, it is fatigue that lasts, and lasts, and lasts.
It's not the fatigue like you feel after you've run a 12-mile race in the Summer, after which you take nice shower, chew some ice, eat a big dinner, and get a good night's sleep so that the next day you feel at least partially recharged. Exhaustion is where you feel fatigued almost all the time and you are unable to recover from it. It seems like nothing works.
Exhaustion might show up in a lot of different ways in your life. Are you always tired or do you have extreme difficulty getting out of bed in the morning, no matter how much sleep you get?
Do
you live on caffeine? Do you always feel blue? Are you concerned that
you might even be suffering from depression? Is it difficult for you to
find pleasure or joy in what you normally find it in? Is your sex life
suffering? Then you very likely are suffering from exhaustion.
Can this question, what is fatigue, have tremendous effects of any part of your life? It affects all areas of your life: the physical, the mental, the emotional, the personal, the professional, or spiritual. People who are suffering from exhaustion are likely to find their productivity declining at work.
They may become a
danger to themselves and others on the roads and highways, as exhaustion
can make one drive poorly because of an inability to focus or react as
normal. What is fatigue, is a question that has been asked by many even the clergy profession.
Your marriage or intimate relationship can be harmed as you are irritable, impatient, short-tempered, avoiding household chores, or uninterested in sex. You may be biting the heads off of your family and friends, and this will drive them away from you and perhaps create long-term rifts in your relationships.
You might overdose on coffee or some other caffeinated drink or source, only to thus make it impossible to get any sleep and cutting off the source of your natural energy--which of course just makes your condition worse or harder to cure. Exhaustion even can leave you more open to getting disease or illness, too, as your immune system is compromised.
There are many possible root causes of exhaustion, including: being overworked; too much physical strain without adequate rest; high levels of emotional or mental stress; persistent insomnia; hating where you work, or being unsure if you should stay in your current marriage or relationship; having recently become a parent or had another child; financial problems; or possibly having some illness such as lupus or strong allergies.
The what is fatigue question has baffled many people, one reason is, they are reluctant to face the real issues that causes fatigue. One lady kept some kind of beverage in her hands most of her work day, and complain day after day of back aches, feeling tired all the time, and never getting enough rest. Sometimes the things that we do, or the products that we put into our body causes our many discomfort.
What you put in your body will affect you in some way, therefore we should be mindful of all substance whether they are good in the long run or bad, just like the ones at the beginning of this page.
